European 4-1 Chain Tutorial

The European 4-1 is a basic chain-maille pattern that was woven into shirts of armor for Renaissance knights to wear as protection from sword and lance blows. This brief tutorial will help to illustrate the assemble sequence of this age-old chain into a elongated diamond shape that I refer to in the 2nd book as a Rhombus Key Fob.

The example image is a Rhombus Key Fob, crafted by assembling twenty-four 15-gauge, 5mm ID jump rings (12 silver & 12 bronze), finished with a steel key ring.
Rhombus Key Fob jewelry supply kits available.
